warming up

such a great image and use of color..the gray has an amazing warm hue that marries quite well with the floors. i am quite versatile when it comes to design and this photo is such a great example of that:

old world details
modern touches
monochromatic hues
and that warm and inviting wood floor that, to me, grounds the room with a welcoming breath.

Great wall color and the eclecticness of it all makes it fun.
Pam...I could totally see white floors here with wood furniture...old and French of course! (would *love* to know what b-mo thinks!)

you've hit me right where I love. ha! meant to type 'live' but 'love' fits here. and I don't mean gray. I mean the mixing the 'old world' with the modern pieces. easy to say/hard to do.

I'm trying to get there...

I am with A Perfect Gray! I have been trying so hard to mix in a few mid cent. mod pieces with some of my more traditional items... very hard to succeed... in a decor adore sense that is!!

slip and slide it is. this is why we do no shoes in the house...lots of mid-falling with a glass of vino going on around here.

pam- i am torn on that one. i am going through the same debate with the cabin. i might end up doing 1/2 and 1/2 in the shack. there are some beautiful floors that i hate to paint and then there are the ones that HAVE to be painted due to black tar staining. jury is out. can we do one room at a time?

24- so, b-mo definitely prefers the wood as he can hide his fur balls quite well. he is a real trickster that way. hence my ocd ability...always got the vacuum in hand and when i don't, i get the hairballs mixed up with b-mo..

perfect gray and ivy - me too. striving indeed. my problem is finding the modern pcs that i love at the price i can afford. so, we carry on and keep on searching.
